MEGAZORB
MEGAZORB
is a horse bedding made from virgin wood pulp. It is produced by high
temperature drying (reaching temperatures of up to 500°C) which not
only removes the moisture from the wood pulp but kills off moulds, spores
and bacteria. After dust extracting the product twice it is put into 85
litre weatherproof bags.
Why is MEGAZORB so good?
MEGAZORB has the highest absorbency of any horse
bedding currently on the market (unless you can tell us differently!),
thus reducing the time and cost of mucking out. MEGAZORB is available
year round, and is biodegrabable and cost effective. As MEGAZORB is produced
from a by-product of the wood-pulping industry, that would normally go
to waste, it is also helping the environment and being totally biodegradable
is easy and cheap to dispose of.
Tips to get the most from your MEGAZORB bedding.
The factors affecting the most appropriate way in which MEGAZORB should
be used include the management style, the type of box used and the habits
of the animal in question.
The
following recommendations are based on real management programmes undertaken
by horse owners who routinely use MEGAZORB.
- Start
with a completely clean stable
- Place
8 or more bags of MEGAZORB in the stable (12ft x 10ft). Use less for
rubber matting.
- During
the first week add a further bag of MEGAZORB
- Every
week thereafter add half to one bag of MEGAZORB
- Be
prepared to remove solids daily (easily done using a shavings fork).
- Be
prepared to remove very wet patches whilst leaving the base of the rest
of the bed untouched. If needs be, replace the removed wet material
with fresh MEGAZORB.
NB. It should be noted that if MEGAZORB becomes too dry it may need
to be dampened down using a watering can in order for it to work effectively.
